About us and our destination

Our Family

We met in Kibogora, Rwanda, in 2015 while I was volunteering as a nurse at Kibogora Hospital, and Emmanuel was a nursing student at Kibogora Polytechnic. We were in the same prayer group, and we would pray with patients on Sundays together. Our friendship developed, and we were married in 2018. We always knew God had more planned for us in Kibogora.

After a few years in the United States, we both felt God is calling us back to Kibogora. In 2022, we moved to Kibogora to serve as full-time missionaries. As nurses, we care for patients and provide education to other nurses and nursing students while working with our partners to improve the care overall. We also welcome short-term volunteers and serve as a bridge within the community. We have three young children, Noella, Matayo, and Luka.

Kibogora Hospital

Kibogora Hospital is a large rural hospital with around 400 beds located in the Western Province of Rwanda on the shores of Lake Kivu. It was founded in 1942 initially as a Free Methodist Mission station and dispensary. It now serves a population of approximately 250,000. Kibogora is also a referral center with a team who is responsible to monitor and evaluate 13 outlying health centers and posts.

The hospital provides surgical, medical, pediatric, maternity, and neonatal services. It also hosts a busy outpatient department. The support facilities include X-ray, laboratory, HIV/AIDS testing and treatment, dentistry, ophthalmology, physiotherapy, palliative care, and a family planning clinic.

Other important services at Kibogora hospital are provided through the Social Affairs department and the Chaplaincy department. These departments strive to meet the basic social and spiritual needs of both patients and staff.
